4 helping hands to help you build a better business brain and better business results
Most people at work at some point complain that they have too much to do and just can’t fit anymore in…
But is ‘over-work’ or ‘lack of time’ really the issue?
Or have we simply not been taught to use our time at work effectively?
One thing is certain – we’ve not been taught how to make best use of the most amazing, most advanced, most capable organ known to humankind – the human brain.
Instead when our brains are at their best we’re all guilty of choosing to do the brain-draining work of reducing our email inbox, answering phone call messages or other social media messages.
We’re using some of the vital energy in our brain for the most menial tasks – rather than focusing on the important issues of the day when our brains are at their freshest.
Because you have so many demands on your time and attention…
Because you want to succeed in business in an increasingly competitive business world…
Here are 4 helping hands to get you going and help you build a better business brain and build better business results:
- Be a better stage director of your business brain - Recognise the limits of your brain and be more conscious of your decision-making process.
- Inhibit distractions - Internal and external influences will always seek to distract you, be aware of the distractions, even if it means turning your phone off and ignoring your emails. If you let them undermine your business brain, you will achieve less than you could.
- Prioritise prioritising before your brain gets tired doing other work - Don’t just fall into your usual daily routine, making a list of priorities should be the first thing you do every day when your brain is fresh.
- Create undisturbed focus time - Customers, your team, meetings, calls, emails… many things demand your time and attention, however you only have up to 2 peak performing hours a day so plan them in and make them totally and utterly uninterrupted, unbroken and undisturbed.
